Prologue.

“Lalala the world is filled with many things!” A little girl sang happily.

The girl was in pigtails, her hair all bouncy and blond. She was dressed in some frilly looking dress with a happy pink gothic taste. She wore a frilly bonnet along with the dress, and she skipped along to the beat of her happy song.

“Filled with many people.” She sang as she skipped along her path.

“Lalalala, many many different people” She continued.

“With happiness, and with people dying” She sang brightly as she turned away from the road down a dark alleyway with poor lighting and a dank disgusting smell that could reach anyone in a 10 mile radius.

“Hehe, they all suffering….” She giggled, her happy song twisted along with the smell of the alley way. Her smile not fading one bit as the darkness swallowed her.

“All suffering, all dying, all crying, ooo all poor lost souls.” She sang as a shadow was moving slightly along with her.

“They were all looking for something, hoping for it.” She skipped past a body that was lying in the narrow alley way, a dark suspicious puddle had pooled beside the body.

She giggled as she continued her song. “Oh they were looking, looking for something. All of them, they wanted it, they needed it. So they looked, they looked. And they found it.”

She stopped skipping as she came up to the dead end. There was a dark coloured substance that was splattered on the three walls that enclosed the alleyway. No one in the neighborhood had walked down that alleyway, they knew better what happened in that alleyway, and even during the day they were wary of that area. This was a place that even the police was wary of. No one knew what happened to all of the victims that ended up in that alleyway.

She smiled, and then she sang the end of her song, “They found Immortality, and paid the price.”

The shadow lunged on the girl, snagged her throat and ripped her head off. Blood sprayed all over, and the body crumbled as the head dripped from the shadow’s mouth. The shadow was a man, with bloodshot eyes. He was a mass of muscles, and his body was coloured dark with a substance that had begun to harden, sticking to areas.

He sucked most of the blood through his mouth that supported two long canines. But there was still a considerable amount of blood that dripped to the ground.  He dropped the head and the little girl’s head rolled away. He began to stalk slowly towards the girl’s body that was lying on the ground. He savored his prey, even if they were dead. He enjoyed every moment of it. It was savage this feeling of power, but it was still power, and he enjoyed this feeling of control.

He felt a sudden overpowering sense of fear that froze him in his tracks. His bloodshot eyes diluted as he tried to figure where the danger was from. But he was too slow because in a split second, his head was attached, then half of his face slipped off onto the floor. His mouth hallowed as it registered the pain. His body blindly flailed around trying to catch his assailant. Then his body stopped its actions, its arms frozen in midair as half of his body fell down and the other half shortly followed after.  A figure stepped out of the shadow of the walls into the moonlight and looked down at its prey. A sword gleamed under the moonlight clean.

The figure sighed as they sheathed their sword, and then pulled out a wooden stick that was pointed dangerously at its end. For a moment the remains of the man was still, but then it began to reanimate itself. It began its screeching even though its throat was cut in half. Blood oozed from its body, but its arms flailed again as its legs violently kicked. The figure ended whatever life was left in the remains by slamming the wooden stick right into the left half of the body’s chest. The figured whispered a silent, but sad prayer for the man. Then the figure pulled the wooden stick out of the man’s chest drawing blood that flicked and sprayed from the wound. The figured threw the stick on the ground disgusted.

“Mary are you done playing games?” The figure asked.

The little girl smiled behind the figure and cocked her head to a side in an innocent manor.
